Being to any city and not being to it’s museum is not worth, though they are no more the attractive places to be visited in case of youngsters. But it must be noticed that the actual feel of any country’s culture and the true record oh history can only be outsourced through its museums. However, the placement of Dubai museum is not as boring as you may have thought. It is actually guarded by the creek that parts the city Dubai and is situated at old Dubai.

It is as such a nice place to visit though it may seem to be less attractive when compared to the vast sight seeing of rest of Dubai. This museum is called as national museum of Dubai that is located in one of the most ancient buildings of Dubai constructed in the year 1787. However, this museum records the construction and official inauguration in the year 1971-dated 12th of May.

The fort in which the museum is built however has an emotional relationship with Dubai. Firstly, it being the oldest building Dubai and secondly the reason due to which this fort was actually built. The reason behind its construction explains the need of self-defence realized by the Dubai city. However, this fort was expanded with in 18th century and many architectural pieces of art were constructed at that time. However, the residues are can be visited and some of these masterpieces exist even today.

Getting back to museum, you will find colorful and evocative dioramas complete with life-size figures. The lightning and sound effects are very meant to depict the pre-oil days. The collection of artifacts makes older things come alive in front of you. The social, economic and professional lives that must have existed in previous times are thoroughly depicted. Apart from these artifacts, galleries recreate the magical effect of the scenes of lives near the creek and how it would have been looked in past.

They provide such vast information about Dubai past that the anxious nerves of any man would get exited. One of the museums also provides the under water life emphasizing on pearl merchants and so on.

Few things including skeletons are placed well that were explored and taken out during archeological excavations. Moreover, housewives and wedding finery all are placed to show the Dubai culture.

Just entering the museum, you will find various collections of maps and photographs detailing the expansion between the periods of 1960 to 1980. Moreover, beautiful pieces of musical instruments like drums, flutes, bagpipes and lyres made up of goatskin points towards the old and rich music culture of Dubai. These instruments however, were used during folk dances and traditional festivals.
